How You Can Embrace Your Gut Feeling

There will always be signs from the universe and when you have a feeling such as a strong gut feeling, you need to pay attention to what you are feeling and learn to trust yourself and your heart. Sometimes your intuition will be so strong that you will not be able to ignore it.

People have often been raised to not believe in the feelings such as intuition and they believe that they are not reliable and that they are making up the feelings based on the situation.

It is important to understand where your gut feeling comes from so that you can learn to trust your gut and develop your intuition.

Where Does Intuition Come From?

Intuition or a gut feeling is something that you feel inside that helps you to reason a situation you are about to make. There is no scientific evidence that a gut feeling is something that should be relied on, but we all know that if we pay attention to what our gut is telling us that we can often make better decisions.

Have you ever been somewhere, and you have a gut feeling that you are in danger? Where do these feelings come from? The truth is, there are thousands and millions of nerve cells that are found in your gut and there are signals that can go from the gut to the brain that helps you to know things and to know what to do and what not to do.

Your brain will take the information that it has and all of the stored information from your past experiences and it will make suggestions to you about the event that is about to happen in your life.

Trusting Your Intuition

People have always said things such as “trust your gut” and this is because they have experienced their gut feelings for themselves. The feelings that you have are part of your subconscious mind and you need to learn to trust your brain and your gut to evaluate the evidence before you and to help you choose what choices to make in your life.

Gut feelings are very useful when you need to make a decision and they are also there to help you to know when there is a problem.

Gut feelings can help you to be more aware and to keep you safe. This comes from evidence in your mind and your body and the evaluations that your mind and body are making.

Gut Feeling Versus Following Your Heart

People talk about the gut feeling and following your heart the same way. When you think about following your heart, this is the same as following your gut. We are emotional beings and when our gut tells us to do or not to do something, we learn to follow what our body is telling us.

People know that if they choose to follow their heart then they can deal with hurt and pain from others. The heart and the gut do not fight against each other it is really the gut, heart and brain that works together to help you have your intuition and to make good choices.

Your brain is the part of your body that has all of the memories and the lessons inside and if you choose to ignore your feelings, it can lead to pain in your life.

Questioning Your Feelings

What if you question if your gut is making the right choices or if you are just fearful of doing something? This is something that many people wonder and even when there are hardships or hurdles in y our life, your intuition is there to guide you.

When you listen to your intuition, you learn to understand things more about your life. It helps you to stop overthinking things so much and to analyze the situation at hand with logic and thoughts.

Some choices that you make have both pros and cons and when you look at what your heart and body is telling you, being scared would not make your gut feeling to process danger. Fear is a natural thing but listening to your gut stops you from being able to grow.

Questioning Yourself

You don’t have to think through every gut feeling that you have. Your gut feeling is what you are feeling inside and when you want to do what is best for you, you will see that you are reaching out to opportunities.

When you focus on your inward self, you can see that you do not have to live up to what society says or what other people say to you and you find value in listening to your own feelings. You learn to know if something you are doing is best for you or not.

Here are some ways that you can stop questioning your intuition and you can live a better life:

Letting Others Control You

If you ignore your gut feeling, it allows other people to pressure you into doing things you don’t want to do.

This can be friends, loved ones or lovers. You have to allow your inner voice to guide you and to make decisions based on that instead of what other people are telling you.

If your gut is telling you something, act fast so that other people don’t come and influence you to do something different. Do not let others pressure you or boss you.

Experiences

Having hard experiences in your past is one of the biggest reasons that people ignore their intuition. If you have been through trauma as an adult or a child, you might not trust your feelings.

Some people have been in abusive situations and they no longer are able to listen to their gut feelings for guidance because they do not trust themselves or believe in themselves.

When you think past your pain and you learn to trust your gut, you will see that your gut is there to guide you. Try to talk to a therapist or to journal your feelings to get some of your power back.

Trusting Yourself

You must learn to trust yourself if you are going to follow your gut feelings. There are ways that you can increase your trust in yourself and learn to believe in who you are.

Trusting in You

There are three things that you need to do to learn to trust yourself: learn to know your needs, following the values that you have in your life and believing that you can succeed even when things are hard.

Here are some things you can do to trust yourself more:

  • Be mindful of what our body is telling you.
  • Talk about your relationships.
  • Believe that your needs are important and as important as other people’s needs.
  • Set boundaries in your relationships.
  • Make choices that work with your values.
  • Make a plan and if it doesn’t work out, still move forward.
  • If you fail, learn a lesson from it but don’t let it hold you down.

Being Confident

Being confident in your own feelings is one of the best ways that you can learn to trust your gut feeling. Here are some ways you can start trusting yourself more.

Be Aware

You have to learn who you are and learn to trust the choices that you make. The more you do this, the easier it will be for you to live a real life.

Once you become more confident in your life, you can start journaling your journey. Here are some things that you can write down:

  • Words that describe you best (pick 20)
  • Write down four things you want in your friendships and relationships.
  • What are you most afraid of?
  • Where do you see yourself going in the next 5 or 10 years?

Comfort Zone

When you step out of your comfort zone you learn that you can deal with anything that life throws at you. This means that you should try new things and you should challenge yourself in life.

Even when things don’t work out how you hope they would, you can boost your confidence and start trusting your gut feeling even more.

Compassion

Being compassionate is one way that you can meet your needs. This means that you have to be compassionate with yourself.

You are not perfect, and you do things wrong but that is part of life. Learn to speak to yourself positively and stop criticizing yourself when you mess up.

Visualization

Learn to visualize and imagine what you want in your life. Imagine doing small things successfully and you will start to see everything different.

Make a vision board to see how you want to see yourself. You can put anything on your vision board that you want, and this can help to build your confidence.

Good Decisions

Use your gut feeling to make good decisions that are best for you. Your mind will want you to do this or that and you need to listen to stay safe.

Be thankful that you have a gut feeling that is guiding you and be confident in your opinions. Let go of the opinions of others and let yourself experience what your heart has for you.

Heart Versus the Brain

Remember that your heart and your brain work together to give you advice. Learn to have value in what your mind is telling you and learn to call on both your heart and your brain to help you.

Intentions

You have to learn to trust your heart. Be intentional about how your heart and your mind work together.

Your intuition can help you to be more rational and help you to solve problems internally. Write down what your heart is telling you and what your brain is saying and see if they are the same things.

Your heart and your brain will learn to be balanced.

Feelings

Not everyone is used to following what their gut tells them and they have to learn to be aware of their feelings.

Take time to meditate and be aware of your intuition. Allow yourself to follow your conscious mind and write down things in your life that you are questioning.

Learn to release patterns that are not helping you to identify who you are. Do this when you have to make small or large decisions in your life.

Be Mindful

Take time to focus on what you are feeling and be mindful of the times where your gut tells you things. This will help you to learn to pay attention to what your mind and body are telling you.

Doing this can help you to pay attention to what your body is trying to show you. This can take away the stress and anxiety in your life.

Manifesting

Once you understand how to use your gut feeling, you can learn how to manifest things to your life.

Do exercises to learn to trust yourself more and this means that you are being positive and that you are looking at the good things in your life.

Manifest your dreams and increase your vibrations so that you can bring things to your life that you desire. Once you learn how to use your heart to bring positive things in your life, your life will never be the same.
